News Round Up - 20th March 2020

Hi everyone

You will have seen Anne's email confirming that the following events are cancelled:

Workshop: Saturday March 28th - cancelled
Branch meeting: Monday 13th April - cancelled

The exhibition in May has been postponed and, given the advice on social distancing, it seems unwise to gather together at the Library on 4th April.

So it looks like many of us now find ourselves at home for the foreseeable future and this is a golden opportunity for stitching, particularly if you (like me) have a pile of projects that are just waiting to be finished. I'm embarrassed to say I have (at least) two kits that I bought in a rash of enthusiasm and haven't even started - their time has finally come!

So let's use this time to share our work. If you have any photos of work in progress - or a finished piece - email it to Anne and we can post it here. We'd love to see them.

Here's some brilliant pieces we've made earlier. Thanks to Jane, Bev, Meriel and Julia for these.

Video link of the week:   I-sew-lation 30 Day Challenge

Take a look at this link if you're interested in a charity 30 day sewing challenge at this time. The sew-along challenge starts today and aims to help girls in Zambia. It looks like  a really worthwhile cause. More details available at sewpowerful.org
Thank you to Liz for spotting this.

Bye for now. Stay safe everyone and keep busy!
