News round-up 10th May
Angie Hughes
In April we welcomed the ever-popular Angie Hughes as our speaker. Angie's theme was 'A source of Inspiration' and she suggested a range of places to look for creative ideas including poetry, the streets and nature where we live and our own bookshelves.
One worthwhile place to start would be Angie's own beautiful work which she brought to share.
The November 2019 workshop with Angie will be a great opportunity to have a go at creating your own Angie Hughes-inspired piece.

At Monday's meeting on May 13th our speaker is Emma Jackson from Silversoles. Many of you will know Emma as a local felter and textile teacher. It's sure to be a fascinating session.
Out and about
Following on from last week's blog post about the pleasures of slow stitching I thought I'd share this painting by Claire Sparkes. Titled 'Stribog's Seamstress', it's currently in the Society of Graphic Fine Art exhibition at the RBSA in St Paul's Square, Birmingham until 18th May. If you like it very much it is for sale but at £6,000, it's pricey!
For more affordable fun, buy a raffle ticket from Janette at Monday's meeting. The colour is blue and the raffle bags will, as ever, be beautiful.
See you then.
Bye for now
