Weekly news round-up - November 23rd
Hello everyone. Here's our usual round-up of news and events.
Meeting at the Library - December 1st
On December 1st it's library time. This is always a good time to catch up on your own projects with chat and coffee and this time there will be the added attraction of the nearby annual Frankfurt Christmas market.
Join us in the mezzanine floor of the Library of Birmingham cafe, from 11-2 pm.

Competition
Just a reminder for the competition that takes place at the December meeting. The theme is 'Light and Dark'.
Those of you who came to the Margaret Fairhead workshop earlier in the year will already have plenty of inspiration and the theme will surely provide a lot of scope for everyone. The silverware is up for grabs!
Video of the week: spider magic
Some folk may have their reservations about spiders but take a look (if you dare) at this video from the Victoria and Albert. A million golden orb spiders have been busy making silk and the resulting cloth was transformed into a stunning golden cape, embellished with stunning embroidery. Watch the video for glimpses of the finished creation.
And if you missed it:
Still available on the Sounds app and BBC iplayer this radio programme hosted by Amber Butchard is well worth a listen if you're curious about the cutting edge of contemporary embroidery.
