Book news

The author of BBC Radio 4's Book of the Week for next week has been in touch to let us know about her latest publication. Published on 7th February, Clare Hunter's book, Threads of Life, takes us from the Bayeux tapestry to feminists in 1980's America, taking in World War One and 1970s Argentina along the way. It aims to reminds us of how much sewing plays a crucial part in expressing the many aspects of our lives and promises to be  fascinating. Find out more here

What's On

If you're passing the RBSA in St Paul's Square, pop in and see their START exhibition, on until 9 February. This year there are a number of textile exhibits, including this machine-stitched piece by Jacqué Wakely. (Apologies to Jacqué for the quality of the photo. Seeing all her pieces in real life at the exhibition is definitely recommended!)
