WEEKLY NEWS ROUND-UP

Hello everyone.

The clocks turn back this weekend and the nights will soon be getting colder and darker. Curling up with some extra stitching in front of the fire sounds very appealing.

Cosy evenings indoors will be perfect for hand-sewing and the William Morris crewel workshop with Nicola Jarvis on 27th October should provide some timely inspiration. In the all-too-likely event that we don't finish our pieces on the day, we can carry on stitching in comfort at home.

The workshop is run by Fiona Nisbet and on the night before at the same venue Fiona is giving Wolverhampton Guild a talk on "From silkworm to fabric" . This starts at 7pm and will finish by 9pm.

Embroiderers Guild 'Page 17'Exhibition at Artrix, Bromsgrove.

If you didn't manage to see this exhibition in March at the NEC and can get to Artrix in Bromsgrove then this is well worth a visit.

Guild members chose a page 17 from their favourite book and created a textile piece based on what they found. If you have seen the exhibition you will know that the standard and creativity on display is exceptional. This is the last venue of the exhibition's tour which is on at the Artrix until 4th November.
