January 2016 Branch Meeting - Travelling Books & Tactile Books

Happy New Year! We hope you have all had a lovely, relaxing (and hopefully stitch filled!) festive season.

We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead for the branch, including our hosting the Regional Day in June.

The next Branch Meeting, on the 11th of January, will be about a couple of branch projects which have been taking place over recent months:

Travelling Books

Several members have been taking part in our travelling books project, swapping stitching and inspiration in books. In January, we plan to take a look at all these books, so if you have a travelling book please bring it to the January session.

We will also be starting a new round. Several people expressed an interest at the December meeting, and I (Heather) will be creating group lists over the weekend. It is not too late to sign up for the next round, so if you are a branch member and want to take part in the next (5-6 month long) round of travelling books, please email the below info to birminghamemberoiderersguild@gmail.com:

  • Your Name
  • Your contact details (preferred email address or phone number - these will be printed in the book to help people contact you if they need to pass books on outside sessions)
  • Whether you want to work in a book with a set theme or not.

Tactile Books

Several members have also been making tactile books, and we will be taking a look at these at the January meeting.

If you are working on a tactile book, please bring it to the January session, even if it is still a work in progress.

Thank you.
