April at the Library

We had a great session at the library at the weekend with 14 members and 11 visitors stitching whilst others stopped by to say hello. More tables had to be moved in and new friendships are made and renewed every month.
Dee found us on the BBC things to do site, Bron and Megan found us via the library leaflet and Jenny found us from our blog.

We were even on the big screen!

We are becoming a family group too, we had mother & daughter, grandmother & grand daughter and Lizzie stitched while her partner read stories to their toddler son and they brought the baby too.
There were a wide variety of projects on the go including Angela's blackwork, Clare working on her embroidery based on pyramids, Elizabeth stitching an applique peacock from a Helen McCook workshop at Solihull branch, Meriel was making chickens for her grandchildren's Easter egg hunt, Jayne was stitching on a stumpwork piece started at Kay Dennis's Birmingham branch day school. Gerry was doing patchwork, Emma did cross stitch, Margaret worked on a piece in natural colours and 3 people were knitting.
Lots of chatting

comparing techniques

checking out one another's work

not to forget drinking coffee!

Bron, Megan, Jenny and Dee were from Telford and made felt flower brooches

The concentration leading to ...........

 the lovely finished article

And we'll be back for more on May 3rd.
